St. Joseph Catholic Church
St. Joe's, as it's affectionately known, has occupied the same space in Escanaba for a long time. The original was built in 1865, just two years after the founding of Escanaba. In 1873, a new building was constructed around the old at a cost of $20,000. The current church was built in 1939 and stands to this day among the iconic churches along 1st Avenue South.
